Cautiously Optimistic

It has been quite a while since my last post because I’ve had a lot going on.

The hubby and I went on a mini vacation and had an amazing time! We went to Halifax – won a little money at the casino…

had our first experiences with Cold Stone Creamery ice cream and Beavertails pastries, and got to spend some time with hubby’s brother, Adam, and his wife, Amy. It was an awesome weekend!

Before we left, we also got some terrifying, but exciting news.

That’s right – we got a positive pregnancy test!

So why is it terrifying to have gotten something we’ve wanted for such a long time? The risk of losing it again. We already got one positive, and got so excited. Not long after, we lost it all. So this time we’re trying not to get our hopes up.

I’ve also been having a really rough time with morning sickness this time around. I ended up having to be started on prescription medication (Diclectin) to help minimize nausea and vomiting. Prior to starting on it, I had a couple of days when I couldn’t even keep water down. Since starting on it, I’ve been severely exhausted because one of the components has the potential to make you incredibly drowsy. I bet I could sleep 20 hours a day if I gave in to how I’m feeling.

So that’s all that has been going on in my neck of the woods. We’re just waiting for an ultrasound appointment to make sure everything is going as it should. *fingers.crossed*
