20 Weeks 2 Days

How Far Along: over halfway! 20w2d!

How Big Is Baby: according to ‘The Bump’ he’s about 6.5 inches long and weighs about 10.6 ounces. At my ultrasound last week, the tech weighed him in at approximately 12 ounces, so he’s a big boy already! πŸ˜‰

Total Weight Gain: either 3 pounds or 13 pounds, depending whether or not you count the ten I lost and regained. But I’m officially up three pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight.

Stretch Marks: Nothing yet thankfully.

Maternity Clothes: I’ve got a few casual shirts, a couple of shirts for work, a pair of dress pants, a pair of capris and a pair of jeans. Looooves my maternity pants – so comfy.

Sleep: I could still sleep 24-7.

Best Moment(s) of the Week: had lots of great moments this week! Found out that our little one is a boy! Been definitely feeling him move! Finally started shopping! Picked a name for our little man! This has been a great week! πŸ˜€

Craving(s): sour candy and smokey bacon chips!

Food Aversion: nothing that I can think of.

Symptoms: you name it, I’ve had it – headaches, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, backaches.

Movements: definitely been feeling him move this week! πŸ™‚ He’s still pretty subtle about it, but the movements are definitely there.

What Do I Miss: Runny eggs yolks.. still – I will miss them until I can have them again. Waking up in the morning and not feeling icky.

Belly Button In or Out: In.

Wedding Ring On or Off: On. Except at night.

Gender: it’s a boy!

Looking Forward To: November!

Next Appointment: next Monday – reviewing the anatomy scan.

It’s a…

… BOY!!!

I am now officially halfway through my pregnancy. A few days ago, I had my mid-way ultrasound to check on our little one’s development and (if we chose to do so) find out the sex. We did choose to find out whether we were having a boy or girl, and found out that we are expecting a little boy! πŸ™‚

I haven’t had my doctor’s appointment to review the results of the scan. But the tech said that things seemed to look good. And, if there had been any problems, I would have likely heard from my doctor by now to move up the appointment to discuss it. So hopefully that means that all is well with our little boy’s developing organs. His growth was measuring right on, his heart rate was 146 beats per minute, and he weighs approximately 12 ounces. Even though I haven’t been feeling a ton of movement (which had made me quite paranoid that something was wrong), he was wiggling around a whole bunch during the scan – kicking his little feet, and moving his hands up around his face. Of course, I’m absolutely head-over-heels in love with the little man already. πŸ™‚

That same day, I went out and made my first baby purchases! We ordered his crib and change table, and I picked out the play pen / basinette from my brother and his fiancΓ©e. I also couldn’t resist buying a couple of pairs of baby socks too, because I happen to think that teensy tiny baby socks are the cutest things ever! The next day, we were out running errands and I couldn’t resist buying our little guy his first pair of jeans and a onesie! (Baby shopping is a serious addiction. Haha.) Last night, we bought a glider rocker for the nursery. It was my husband’s one must-have purchase ever since we decided to start trying to get pregnant. And they were on sale this week! Woohoo!

Now up until this point, you would have noticed that I’ve kept referring to our son as “little guy” or “little one” or something else completely generic. That is because, until last night, he didn’t have a name. But, I think we may have finally decided on a name for him as well! After many rejected options, we have decided on Alexander. πŸ™‚ The middle name will be David, because that’s a family name in my husband’s family. Alexander David. *swoon*

Anyway, I was going to fill out my pregnancy survey thing that I’ve been doing from time to time. But I think I’ve rambled on enough for one night, and this momma needs to get some sleep.
